Default Transmission help 3rd gear screwed

Alright so I was driving today and out of the middle of nowhere third gear starts grinding when i try to engage it at first i thought i didnt have the clutch all the way in but thats not it... just shifting normal when i go into third it grinds bad and puts up resistance but once in third all is good... If I let the rpms die off and ease it into third VERY slowly no problems but that is very annoying... so tomorrow i will be taking it to nissan to hopefully get it fixed under warranty its an 03 but i just got it six months ago and got the extended warranty... anyways I was going to see if anyone had any suggestions as to what I can do to fix it I would rather not have to take it in and deal with nissan... its just third gear that has problems. Thanks

Thats a common problem on the 03. The stealership "fixed" mine several times before they finally had to replace my entire tranny. Don't cut them any slack if its not fixed. Since I got my new tranny, I've had no problems out of my car.

Not many choices here. Either a new or rebuilt transmission.
