Default Eating Oil...??

Hey guys,

I got another issue to ask... this is my first time going through this issue but my last oil change, my tech told me that my oil was very low like about 1 cup low. He has indicated that my engine is eating oil. I just paid off my car and has 140K miles and yes it is firsrt gen 03 model. Does anyone have same oil eating issue? Whats the cause and what can I do to resolve this matter?

... is my car too old and 140K is just too much miles for my car to be normal?

Thanks in advace.

Motors get old and tired. Put some oil in the motor

or

replace it with a rebuilt motor.

1 cup? Dude, that is only 8 ounces. Like as in a quarter of a quart. That is no ways near "eating oil".

Your tech? Just because your oil is a little low doesn't mean your engine is burning oil, or even causing too much blow-by. How often do you change your oil? It's normal for the oil level to be a little low after you've driven the car over 4k miles without an oil change.

I hope that when I get to 140k all my car burns is just "1CUP" of oil.

Any-who...That seems to be in the normal range, as stated by numerous Nissin techs

I put mobil1 and ran about 6k miles. It didnt eat up 1cup, 1cup of oil was left. I had this car for long time and ran 140K miles, I never had an issue where my oil was that low well at least for 6k miles. Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.

-no weird noises?

Sorry friend but I think last time you changed your oil you forgot the oil pan bolt.

Keep doing that on a regular basis now and add oil when necessary between services.

1/2 cup of oil left and no oil light, or change in engine tone??? Are you sure he is not exaggerating? My car usually burns through .5 qts in 3500 miles. I can tell by the first 2 seconds of startup if the oil is low. I would just keep tabs on your oil now, check it often.

PS: change your own oil

Change your own oil, and do it every 3-4k miles instead of 6k.

Survey says.........impossible. Stop, think, visualize how much oil that really is. These VQ's take 5 quarts.
