5AT 1st gear shifts early?
Hello, I have an 03 5AT 350z, and first gear seems to always shift at 6300rpm, while the rest of the gears shift at around 6500rpm (right at redline). Yes I have TCS off. I didn't think it used to be like this, but maybe I'm wrong. Is this normal or not?
Kind of an old thread but I will put in my solve to this problem.
I recently got my 5at and noticed the same thing, I simply reset the ecu. Now it shifts near redline in first. I did have to give the car about 5 full throttle pulls from stop up through 4th gear, as the shifts seemed to need to relearn. I was hitting the soft limiter in 1st and the other shifts felt slow, but all is good now.
