Default Goods n bads of Oil

Am reading up on oils and filters and hope this is not a repost.

http://www.nordicgroup.us/oil.htm#Ho...is%20Prevented

Im trying to learn which oil filter if any would be a better choice than the OEM. Ive used mobile 1 5w30 for the first 10k changing it every 2500 and then change every 2k and am now at 14800 miles. yes ****, but hey its cheap insurance for our cheap us GAS. if any of you have information about good filters and why or how (proof no speculations), please list. Thanks.

there is an entire, several year long sticky thread with more meaningful info, relative to this engine, than you will find anywhere else.

That article was last updated in 2002....most of what is posted there is very generic, and the author gives 0 background on his expertise, sources, etc. It is good to line the birdcage with...it certainly isn't providing any info that your owners manual doesn't already cover.

LOL ok ok , thanks. Love the reply. Was just in the mood to learn a bit more about filters and came about this. Not sure if it was helpful or not, however I posted it for those who might not know any more than it states. Thank you.

Good: they're slippery. Engines like slippery.

Bad: they taste god-awful.

I also use M1 5W-30 and I change it every 3,750 miles.
