Default Fuel Problem...Need Help!!

I need help sorting out some problems in the fuel system. Please keep bad comments to yourself, advice and help is greatly appreciated, since im a college student and dont have lotta money to deal with fix and and fix that. Thanks.

Cant take it to dealer because i dont know how much it would cost (95K Miles)

Occassionally when im driving, the gas meter sometimes just drop lower than it was before, meaning like when i first start my car in the morning to go to class (15miles trip) based on a full tank, then when i get back in my car then start it up again, the meter drops to like half tank, also sometimes, it would sits on E then jump back up again. What could cause this problem and if possible how to fix it DIY. Thank you for your time.

Mine does this all the time but i know how many miles i can go between fill ups.The repair is not hard as all you need to do is get a new sender unit from the dealer. You will have to pull the fuel pump assembly out to do the fix.

I think the dealer only sells the sender as a fuel pump assembly a the pump is under the rear seat......at least it is on my g.

It's most likely the fuel sender unit. This is the float on the fuel pump. Try to see if you can buy just the sender unit. If not, you may have to buy the complete fuel pump with the unit.

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like you have to buy the entire assembly.

Thanks for your advice so far, and thats what i was thinking as well, also doesnt the Z/G have two of the sender units (Pass., Driver)? Which do i replace if so. Another question, anychance that the fuel pump itself could cause something like this?

Anyone here have an OE Fuel Assembly they dont need or would sell. Let me know. Thank you.

If others have experience this problem as well, please help me out on how to locate and fix the problem.
