THE BORLA ROCKS!
This is the sweeetests sounding exhaust esp with my test pipes on...
reminds me of my cobra with straight pipes but not so loud. Nice and throaty. The raspiness i had with the test pipes and stock exhaust (nasty noise) is almost completly gone. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TESTPIPES AND THIS BORLA SETUP.
This along with my new *BLING* Plenum makes my car feel soooo nice on the higher revs...(as the butt dyno will attest to)
This week I will be installing the Borla headers to complete the package..

does your borla + test pipes make a funky noise at 4000+ RPMS?

NO..it does still resonate a bit at about 3500 but only for a short bit (maybe 3500-3800). With my test pipes and stock exhaust this was amplified by 20 and it was for the whole 3000-4000 RPM range.
Vic i heard your comparison vids with the borla+test pipes, just borla, and stock setup. The slight raspyness i heard in your vids is exactly the same as mine. Thought it was originally a leak but i beleive its just the exhaust resonating.

CRAWFORD PLENUM
The plenum is the shiny peice on top of the engine (not injen intake) that helps the motor breath the fresh air. The new one by crawford eliminates the ft 2 cylinders starving for air. Bad original design by nissan.
CALL DOUG AT CRAWFORD Z AND ORDER IT! You will not be dissapointed.
It buys you about 10 peak HP and 20 at redline. YOU WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE.

What's it take to install the plenum? Did you install it yourself? Are there any warranty concerns?

Great setup, and on SB too???

Don't tease me like this. It will get even better with the headers.

Simple tools including a hex wrench. Definitely a DIY; average time is 1.5-2 hrs top.

Warranty, hehehe, there's always a warranty concern when it's not OEM, but this product should not cause that kind of problem.

Question

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you had to send in your stock Z plenum to crawford so they can mod it to their specs? Or do you just order one already made from them? TIA

they send you one, then you send in your original after you receive the new one. so there's no down time. if you don't want to send in the original then you pay them another 200.

I wish they'd make that plenum not look like the tin man took a poo on top of your motor. You can't put the cover on?

the bling plenum is exactly what it says. it's just bling, no performance gains. just looks.

it is much smoother with no seams and is polished.

Actually the *BLING* plenum dyno’d .00154 more HP then the regular Crawford plenum.
SO IT’S WELL WORTH IT!

Plus it’s nice and shiny. No ugly welds and nice and smooooooth..

Actually...

The BLING plenum makes the SAME gains as the original crawford plenum. Many more hours have gone into this, grinding down the "humps" and welds. Then the polishing method used. It's the plenum we did, which everyone demanded they wanted a "pretty" one.

As for the "I wish they'd make that plenum not look like the tin man took a poo on top of your motor. You can't put the cover on?" comment... Go buy a BMW or Lexus if you want bling bling ... If you want power, come racing with the Crawford crew sometime.

Honestly... pretty parts aren't something we're aiming for. We want power. If power is ugly... Then so is the win our cars will take because we have that power advantage.

Damn... I hate it... being fast is soooo damn ugly!
