You can remove them together just be careful of the hard lines on the steering rack as you're trying to angle and remove the whole assembly.

She's ready to come out, the only thing is I can't get the dang shifter off. How do I get the sob off? Some times the smallest things are the hardest.

the shifter is very easy.

once you remove the trim piece from the center console, you will remove the 4 bolts that hold down the noise isolation boot. after taking those bolts out, lift up the boot and you find 3 more bolts......take those out. that all for inside the cabin area.........oh yeah, I assumed that you took the shift **** off prior to starting the shifter removal.

next, you need to move underneath the car. if I remember correctly, there is just one bolt to remove. it is where the shifter attaches to the shift rod assembly.

now....go back in the cabin and pull the shifter straigh up and out of the car. make sure not to lose the reverse lockout spring!
