Thanks for the write up. Harder is fine in my opinion. The only question was how much harder? If its like a hard THUD everytime the car wants to shift gears, then I'd rather skip the mod bc I'd still like to enjoy the civility of driving the car when I'm not in race mode if that makes sense.

Honestly I'd consider the Stillen VB if I didn't read about it sucking all the time (just about every thread on here and driver) and that it doesn't really shift fast enough.

If that's the case, I'd rather leave the stock VB in and not worry about spending all that money for an upgrade I won't be able to take advantage of.

You know what, these shifts may not even be something to even worry about. I need to find someone local and ride in their car so I can see how this mod works in real time then I'll know for sure.

The only local guy I know who had it done on his car doesn't even post on the forums anymore.

yeah ive read that the 2nd to first gear tiptronic shift is very scary sounding.
IMO, unless you are going FI, you should skip it.
I'd say get a grounding kit and (or not) WB paddle shifters for the money
But getting a ride in a car with the kit done would be a smart choice, even better get to drive a z or g with the mod done.

/End thread jack haha

Nawh...no thread jack. Just facts. Half the people on the forums say you don't feel anything at all during light driving/under 3K RPMs.

The other half mention or complain about rough / harsh shifts. Its either a matter of subjective opinion OR differences in installation where some are doing something extra to make the shifts rougher than others or the opposite....

I need to ride in a car with one of these shift kits installed and see for myself. I'm actually contemplating biting the bullet and ordering a kit and getting it over with. I just don't want to regret my decision especially if it makes driving the car rougher.

I drive my parents around occasionally and the last thing I need is my dad complain. The only reason I'm picking this up is bc I'm going FI this year and will need it anyway.

IMO you have no choice; (other than when to) get it. Also get a cooler and grounding kit while you are at it.

Definitely....I should be picking up this mod in a couple weeks. I think I'm going to install it myself. Doesn't seem too bad.

I'll pick up a cooler and install that at the same time. Might as well since I'm draining trans fluid to install the VB.
