Moved to proper forum

Maybe / maybe not. Is it a 2004 or a 2004.5 motor, there may be differences and the harness may be different. A 2004.5 will be closer to a 2005 as the 2004 is closer to the 2003.

what do i need to know before i do this?
A whole lot more.

did you blow your engine?

if so, and if neither one is the rev-up version, you might be able to just attach all the crap that belongs to your car... maf, throttle bodies, o2 sensors, injectors... etc etc to the other engine.

if that is the case, though, someone else here will know.

all im saying is that if you post more info on what exactly youre working with here you might find out that theres an easy way to do what you wanna do...

neither one is a rev up. the current engine is no good. needs some work to fix it. i just got another engine with tranny that is of an 04 z. both are manual.
