Default Best price on Transgo 5AT Kit ??

I've searched everywhere ..

the g35 forums, 350z forums, etc ..

Does anyone know where I can get the transgo shift kit / reprogramming kit for the 5AT cheaper than $250?

Don't say its only available at forged or gtm .. they want $295 shipped

I live a short drive from forged, and right next to summit racing .. just found out summit racing sells them for $250 but takes a week or two for them to get it

I keep seeing threads where people say "I got mine for 245" .. or "theres a guy on here that sells them for 220" .. etc

I will be making a DIY with plenty of pictures when I install the kit myself either at work or at a friends house (both have lifts )

I just got mine from forged. 225 would have been nice ha, but oh well. Got it installed for 350 with new fluids and everything. I like it a a lot. Shifts good and hard, definitely a lot faster. GL

Well I was about to get one for 250 out of the marketplace but that fell through at the last minute .. was ready to pay for the damn thing alll day long, waiting for the guy to get online .. sent the money and get a message back "oh someone just bought it before you"

I guess I'll just get one from forged

anyways .. I will be doing a DIY once I get a kit and install it .. that should help some that are still deciding about getting the kit .. I've done one before on a ford truck, was a little complicated with alot of springs, *****, filters, etc .. but nothing impossible if you follow the instructions

I just ordered the kit from Forged Performance ..

they are north of Atlanta and I am south of Atlanta so it should be here soon

figured $30 or so wasn't worth the wait over summit .. plus summit has lost my business ever since I walked in asking for "k&n filter for a 350z"

got the reply "what make car is that"

................................

So my question is now .. where is the best place to get 8 quarts of transmission fluid? (is the dealer only choice?)

what is the exact type I need to get for a 2007 5AT?

dont mean to thread jack but I was wondering on the oil also. I was at autozone and realized they sell a castrol import multi vehicle atf oil look http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=7028224 this should work instead of using oem nissan fluid right? On autozones site it says it requires 10.9 qts can someone clarify that for me I have a 05. Can you post the part #? Im trying to find it on summit but I cant find it.

can't remember the actual brand of fluid i used, but just make sure it is j matic fluid. it doesn't have to be from nissan. just go to advance auto and tell them you need j matic compatible trans fluid. they have a couple. you can even look at the back of the bottle and it will list the car brands it works for (all import)

I'm reading up on the VB removal / Transgo install instructions ..

doesn't look bad at all .. only thing I don't like about taking valve bodies off are those pesky *****

says its either a 3 or 5 ball .. I could of sworn the f350 I installed a shift kit on had alot more than that .. did it in my driveway one night while the tranny was still warm from picking the kit up at summit (damn vaseline wouldn't keep the ***** held up b/c the heat was melting it)

You don't want to under or overfill. You must follow the FSM for getting the fluid level within the correct range for a given temperature. A dry trans + tc will take 10 qts for a complete fluid exchange. Drain and refill will take 5. You have to measure as per the FSM to get it right.

yea .. I gotta read up on how to read the dipstick

i've seen people post up 8 quarts for the vb upgrade .. so I guess when you take the vb off you loose another 2.x quarts over the 5 for just drain / fill

I already said I will be making a DIY when I install the kit .. the kit is on the UPS truck almost to my house .. so hopefully I'll get it on sometime this week or definitely by this weekend

there are instructions for the removal of the valve body and the install of the transgo kit on the GTM website next to where you click "add to cart" for the valve body service and the transgo kit itself

it explains most of it, but leaves out torque specs, fluid amount, etc .. but I downloaded the service manual for all that

I can't remember where I downloaded the service manual from but I think it was from the 350ztech site .. just search for it .. theres a bunch of stuff in it (ALOT)

it basically says put in however much you took out .. then says something about 10 quarts to flush it through the cooler lines

...............

I got the kit a few minutes ago .. huge box with a few springs, drill bits, and lots of air .. haha .. now I just need to find time to install it

EDIT - heres some pics I took real quick with my cell phone .. I'll get my brothers camera for when I install the kit and make the DIY ..
