Default CuztomPartz/Southbend DXD Clutch needs test car 07-09HR/370Z

Hey guys, I have been working with Southbend DXD Racing clutches on getting the clutch kits ready for the HR and 370.

I have worked closely with Southbend clutch for over 6 years on developing killer clutch kits for the Z31/Z32/Z33
We have the highest TQ holding single disk set-up available for all these cars to date holding well into the 800+ TQ range! I have also personally ran just about every clutch in the line-up in my own car for let's say "testing" purposes

We are working on a Solid 4140 Billet steel flywheel as well for both cars that we are trying to get to a "Midweight" to help with the Gear chatter common when going to a very light flywheel but at the same time give you the advantages of the lighter weight and the durability you can only get from a solid billet steel flywheel. These should be ready in the very near future.

Anyway, for now we need a test car for our new clutch set-up(s) for the 07-08 HR and/or 370Z

How I would like to do this as I do not know all of you very well (yet) is I would like you guys to elect a person to try this out for us.
Basically this is what I need.

Must own 07-09HR or 370Z 6 speed.
A well known member of the boards.
Honest
Can do his own work (correctly) within a short period of time, or can afford to pay somebody to do it correctly.
Have a somewhat stock set-up with stock flywheel in good condition. Bolt on mods OK, Intake>Exhaust ect.

This will be a street style full face clutch set-up so no drag racing on slicks.
If you track your car that is fine, Actually a plus!
EDIT>>> I will put you in whatever style clutch you need! If you need a drag clutch, you can have it!

This clutch will be comped (FREE) by DXD/Cuztompartz for testing it out for us.

If you guys can narrow the possibilities down for me I will look into them and go from there.

Thanks!

Read again Track=OK.
Nobody will recommend drag racing on a full face disk althou it is done. Drag race=6 puck.
And what I mean by Drag is just that, Drag racing at the strip with slicks.

TQ is really not an issue as we can build a kit to whomevers needs. We have kits from 400ish all the way up to over 800.

Which kit I put a person in more depends on what they do with their car and what they like in a clutch, More grab, Smooth engagment, Easy pedal effort, Stiffer pedal effort, faster shifts, street car, track car ect. TQ is a factor but more depends on what you do.

The bad CSC's were recalled and replaced.

Personally I don't think the problem is as big as everyone makes it out to be, I am also a Nissan master tech and have not seen any of these go bad, Even the ones that were recalled were not leaking and I have probably replaced 100 of them.

The Clutch will not cause any problems with the CSC as it is set-up correctly for the car.

Thx. Nice to hear feedback from someone with experience. What's the clamping load(s) for the HR clutches you're manufacturing? Also, can the clutches for the 350Z HR be used in the 370Z? Seems similar, but not sure.

Southbend has 2 different clamp loads they use, up to stage 3 use around 200 more lbs than stock. The SS series Stage 4 and up are anywhere from 2500-3000lbs and I have had them build that pressure plate to 3800lbs and it worked well at that but was a little stiff to push at the pedal.

Since all of the DXD kits are hand built I can have them build them to whatever clamp load I request.

They normally don't need to have a lot of clamp load in the kits to hold a lot of power. For instance, The Stage 3 OFE kit is a dual friciton kit, Organic on the pressure plate side and SBC's feramic material on the flywheel side.
Feramic will hold "twice" the TQ as a stock like organic lining at the same clamp load so the need for a heavy pressure plate is illeviated.

The HR and 370 use the same clutch set-up, Flywheels are different thou. The 03-06ish is a different set-up as the HR also.
