Welcome. One or booth of the rear axles is broken and must replaced. Or the differential is broken.

Did you look under the hood to see if something may be rubbing your strut bar?? Do you have an anftermarket intake that may be shifting around and banging into something? Also you could have a bad motor/tranny mount.

Obviously you are gonna need to put the car on a lift and start shaking things to see if anything is rubbing, or shows any signs of contact. Normally a lound noise when you let off is a sign of a bad mount or exhaust shifting somewhere.

Had the same problem and just got it fixed at the dealer for free under the powertrain warrenty. There is a TSB on this. Search for TSB and clicking sound its not hard to find.

I think you are refering to the light metalic clicking sound when you back up, and take off from the rear axel. The OP is refering to an actual "clunk" when shifting gears.

You told me it was coming more from the gearbox.

How's it going by the way?

PS. Now that you joined the site, you are going to need a 350Z fund for the "upgrades"
