Default XERD + 30m =CEL

Installed the XERD headers yesterday and after a 30 min ride I got the service engine soon light.
After doing the ecu reset (3sec on, bla, bla, bla) it gives me 10 long flashes, 10 short, 3 short, and 1 short. What code is that?

PS
The headers sound and look real good, next week will be dyno time.

Did you do it yourself? How did you tightin the lower bolt on the second runner on the passenger side. I can't get a tool in there to tightin it. My car has been garaged for three days. It's too tight of a fit.

Thank's for any help you can offer.

You might want to try a set of MIL eliminators since you got rid of your cats.

What are they, or what do they do?

You don't need them on this car. If the light is gone it should stay gone. A lot of us have gone catless and have had no CEL. You shouldn't have a problem. They simply fool the ECU into thinking you have a second set of O2 sensors after you take them out with the cat. They don't have any specifically for this car because you can remove the cat, plug the O2 sensors back into the replacement part and not have a problem.

Carlitos,

If the check engine light keeps coming on, make sure you recheck that all the bolts are on tight and that your 02 sensors didn't get dirty while doing the install.

We have installed 5 of these headers so far and non of the cars have the check engine light come on. Our test car has over 2,000 miles on it with the headers and no check engine light.

Thanx, Eyal

I thought they came with a set of O2 simulators.

You're thinking of EVO 8 products.

Just for an FYI the MIL elinators reduce the voltage coming from the rear o2 sensors. It doesn't fool the ecu into thinking you still have the downstream sensors, but rather that your cats are working. Any OBDII car that has the cats removed and merely replugs in all four sensors has the POTENTIAL to throw a code as a result of removing the cats.

I have read that many are running catless without a problem, so I would guess that Carlitos screwed up wiring/installing the o2 sensors, or actually would benefit from a set of MIL eliminators. Knowing what code is being thrown would help eliminate all the guess work, as it could be a dozen reason why the CEL is on.

Carlitos - when the light came on were you driving at a costant speed above 50 mph for about a minute?

I just finished installed the XERD headers with a friend. It was really tough. Took us a good 7 or 8 hours. Have to removed the CAI, strut bar. I drove home from my friend place and so far no CEL. The drive is more than 1/2 hour long.

Yes, did it myself. I used a 1/4" deep socket(14), it is shorter than 3/8" socket and the 1/4" extension fits in between the runners.
And yes, its a tight fit.

About the CEL without cats, my G is the second car to get the light here in PR. None of the Zs or the other Gs with test pipes have it yet, its just me and one other friend.

It is not wiring, but I'll re-check. I could try cleaning them but I dont think thats the problem, and no I did not screwed up the install, I did one side at a time and I have a lot of experience doing this types of jobs.

The light came on right after starting the engine at idle. The car had been park for like 3hrs since I drove the 1/2hr.

Does anyone knows what the code is ?
10 long, 10 shorts, 3 shorts, 1 short.

My nav unit warning says that it is the gas cap or an emission problem.

No leaks, all bolts are tight.
I'll ck the sensors but my garage its a clean place and they were on the floor only for a short period.
Thanks for all the help I'll keep trying to find the bug.

By the way, the car feels fast
