Default Identify this piece please!

I was driving around recently and was noticing a clunking noise when turning or doing anything abrupt with the yaw of the car. I searched in the spare tire area and couldn't find anything several times until I felt around thoroughly and found this piece. It looks like it was broken off somewhere.

This was rattling around back there and causing the noise but wtf is it?

(By the way, I was unsure about what section to post this in so I apologize in advance).

Did you find only one?. They attach to the inside of your hatch. (Spring seats?). If it came from your car there should be a hole to give you an idea.
There are 2 of them, near where the hatch support struts attach to the hatch.

That looks like this piece (see attached):

Note: there's 1 on each side, to the rear of the hatch shocks.

I went out and verified and that is exactly what it is. However, my car still has 2 of them under each strut for the hatch. The car is a CPO that I got used a month or two ago so maybe they got replaced and just left one of the old ones in the spare tire compartment by accident
