Default Took the Z into Nissan for a SES light..

**hmmm nvm posted in wrong section ---> FI***

Okay so i got an SES saying my air fuel ratio sensors are bad ( o2's on the headers) they replaced one of them and the ses came on, so im guessing the other one is bad as well? anyways, im going FI in like 3-4 weeks. One of the turbo manifold will have my A/f ratio gauge and the other will use a normal o2. so should i just wait to replace? or should i struggle w/ dealership till they fix it ( still under warr. ) btw its a 07

Dealer F***in sucks. I had them do this with my car.. They did the same thing with mine. They got the code for the o2 sensors on the headers were bad. They changed one and said the ses light is still on so they went ahead and changed the other. You can wait bro. I've been running around with bad o2 sensors for over 5 months cause there is just not point in replacing them again. I did a highway run 2 weeks after nissan replaced them the first time and they just burned out again. Just wait till you go fi, it's not a big deal.

Well if I go boost, and o2 sensors are bad, isn't that dangerous for the car? Also, what could be the problem with the car? What are the o2s burning out?

Yeah it wouldn't be good. But what I am saying is that you should just change them while you are gonna get the car boosted instead of doing them now and have the techs that install the turbo or sc to throw them on while they are at it. It would be much cheaper than taking them to the dealer. And if your boosting your car there is no more warranty anyway.

You could be running rich like I am. I think there is build up on them, however I don't know why there would be after 2 weeks and one hard pull to 165mph.

If you keep burning up your O2 sensors you have more serious issues that should be resolved or at least figured out before you go FI.

What could cause my car to burn out the o2?

There are probably a number of different reasons. But my reason is that my car is running rich it's also a 04 and the 04s are known for eating oil more than other years, so there is the oil burning issue that could come into effect.

Some times the dealer won't even change the o2 sensor out for a new one. I have heard of people taking there cars off and marking their o2 sensors with different colored markers, just a dot or line on them from a marker, and getting the car back to just notice that they didn't change out the sensor at all. Most of the time they will charge you to clean the damn things cause there is build up on them. Just something to think about. If you want something done right, do it your self. This way you know you are putting on brand new parts.

So you fix the o2 sensor yourself and know it was done correctly. If it goes bad again, check your oil consumption, check if your car is running too lean or too rich (more than it should be from the factory).
