Hey guys, so i was driving home today, and I shifted into 5th gear and then all of a sudden i felt the shifter stiffen and I realized that I cant pull it out of gear... The clutch still engages, but I have to start it from 5th now. The car is an 03, and I was having the grinding issues with 4th gear (Clutch engauged but griding when shifted into gear). If you guys have any idea what is going on please let me know....i hope its not the gear box...

That sucks. Sounds like your transmission is toast.

 

^ yup. just get used to starting in 5th from stop lights and getting laughed at until you get a new tranny man

 

This happened to me also. Your tranny is toast. Make sure you get a cd009

 

hehe starting in 5th its a good thing we have some torque my beater stalls starting 5th

Removing and fixing a transmission is not for the weekend mechanic. You may be able to find a used or rebuilt transmission.

 

LOL yes that is my car!! i used to work at best buy....well till last week.... thats another story...

so it turns out i needed a new gear box, so i got an 06 with 14k miles installed, and an ACT HD clutch kit and street light flywheel installed....loving the new tranny!!
