Default broken bolt

today is was putting on my plenum spacer. while i was tightening the midle bolt on the left side of the intake manifold collector cover, when ii over torqued it and broke. the other five bolts on the collector cover are good. after installing everything i turned the car on, it's idling fine no funny noises or smells. my question is, would that bolt not on there cause any damaged or problems. thanks

Very common. Are those the bolts that should be tightened to inch-pounds? I could tell you that 5 out of 6 is OK. Or 4 out of 6 is OK. Yes you need ALL the bolts.

Try an easy out.
Next step is a tap and larger bolt.

I'd probably try and take out the broken bolt to insure it doesn't back its way out and start down the intake tract.

Yes its OK. The 6 bolts seal the gasket that directs intake air to the “center” of the lower collector. This insures 100 percent of the intake air goes “inside” the cylinders.

A leak at the plenum will allow extra air in, and the result will be a lean mixture in one or more cylinders.
