Default 03 350z accelerating problem please help!

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase another 350z, yesterday I test drove an '03 with 48,000 miles. The car is stock, just lowered springs and has nismo wheels.

My question is when i test drove it, the car hesitated when accelerating as if something is holding it back. I also notice when i went through all the gear the rev indicator light always flashes early at around 3k rpm and up. Is this normal? I remember it's only suppose to flashes to warn you just before you hit redline? The motor and transmission is good, so I don't know what could be wrong. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

So if i were to change the rev indicator to a different point in the rpm say 6k it would drive normal again? Because i had an 05 in the past and when i stepped on the gas it just pulls hard. This one doesn't seems to pull that hard but rather sluggish. So i don't know if the rev indicator has anything to do with it or something else.

Rev indicator is just a reminder. It does not affect the actual acceleration. Have a mechanic you trust check it out.

Operation of the rev indicator is explained the owner’s manual. Very informative little book.

Thanks for all the responses, I did have a mechanic check it out and he said it's probably the fuel system as if not enough fuel is being supply but he wasn't sure himself. The car has no engine mods at all. Any other ideas on what might be wrong with it?
