Default Confused with the engine.

Last Friday I did a huge drift around a empty parkinglot and as soon as I was done my Z had shut down for some reason. I then proceeded to turn it back on of course and it wouldnt start. So I took the key out and tried again and it started fine. Repeated and it was good. When I started my z today it did the same thing did not start the first time and it took me a second time. It hasnt done this again but im wondering what the problem is. My battery seems to be at full life can it be my altenator?

tell us more, was this "huge drift" awesome like in the fast and the furious, or did you spin it and forget to clutch and stalled it hard and likely messed something up that will cost thousands of dollars to fix? Sounds to me like the banjo bolt connecting the Y-pipe bearing to the crankshaft isn't opening all the way the first time you try and crank it, thus locking it in a no crank mode.

probably the car shutting down from the abs computer.

when it does that you have to turn the car all the way off to reset it before you can start it.

the hard start thing i have no idea. maybe flooded cylinders so it was hard to start the first time.

i'm confused on why you did something, something bad happened, but you decided it was ok to do it another time?

Obviously the 350Z cannot handle your Tokyo drift skills.

"...I did a huge drift around a empty parkinglot and as soon as I was done my Z had shut down for some reason."

You set off the "driver doing stupid stuff" sensor in the ECU.

It's well known that drifting at extreme slip angles is hard on the alternator. Replace it immediately and be sure to ask for one that can handle higher Gs.

hmm, something tells me doing something that causes a bad result, then doing it AGAIN is the action of a person minus the college education. just a guess though
