taps for cleaning threads?
hey guys,
i'm building an engine and need to clean out all the threads using bottoming taps.
can anyone tell me what sizes taps i need for the head bolts, main bearing caps and other holes?

usually with taps your better off with indiv.
i really havn't seen many "sets" maybe a few generic ones
besides taps work in stages.. usually 2.. starter.. finisher.. and some i believe have even 3 stages..
so a set of just some standard sizes would be a lot of pieces. and probably be pretty expensive..
id recommend just buying the sizes you need
to figure out what tap sizes you need go by your desired/required bolt size.
I have provided you a chart that will tell you the size you need (be it that you know the bolt size)
