Default testing voltage?

alrighty im running lean and i need to test my a/f sensor and injectors.
whats the proper procedure on this do i just grab my volt meter and go to town? As well is there any way by visual inspection i can tell if an injectors bad and how do i test them volt meter?
anyone know where i can find the stock volt ratings for the a/f or 02 sensors and the injectors for an 05 non rev up

In order to get a real reading from your O2, you'll need to connect to it with an appropriate diagnostic tool. Just taking your volt meter to it won't really get you anywhere and you wouldn't be able to get a good reading out of it while driving.

You can check to see if you have battery voltage at your injectors (with the key in the on position) and you can also do a resistance test to check that the coil is good, but they could still be mechanically bad or clogged. You can send em out to be cleaned and flow tested to get some real results.

what about the injector test in the fsm would that work where you disconnect the injectors crank the engine and bag the fuel that comes out and measure that to see if any of them are spitting

Well, you could observe the spray pattern if you had the upper intake off and were watching down the lower intake runner during cranking, but that wouldn't tell you their flow rates. You can check to make sure the resistance is kosher across the coil of the injector with an ohm meter, but again, they could be mechanically clogged and there is really no 100% way to be sure without proper flow testing done professionally.

Just a voltmeter set to DC voltage, you can get to the #1 injector clip without removing the plenum. Just turn the key to the on position without starting the car and you should see battery voltage at one of the pins.

Not really man, your 02 sensor voltage is going to be jumping around a lot and most voltmeters don't react quick enough to keep up. In order to really check all that out properly you've got to hook up with a scan tool.

Unless you have a high-dollar graphing multi-meter.

Haha, don't sweat it too much man. These cars are really advanced and if there was something really going wrong with one of your sensors/actuators, your CEL would come on to let you know.

If you are really interested in knowing about all this stuff you can pick up a program that can scan your computer for as little as $150.

P.s. and thats crazy that you are in Thousand Oaks redlined, i used to live in Valencia and my parents did some business out there.
