My daughter came home last night, parked the Z and then could not move the shifter into Park.

it was stuck at the point where you can place it into Manual mode.
It would not budge. There was no display on the indicator on the cluster.

This morning I manually released the ign key and proceeded to remove the top pieces.,.. no luck trying to move the shifter.
Finally I removed the 4 bolts holding it in place and after some wiggling I got it to move into park.
After playing with the bolts holding the assy to the floor I finally got it set where it would shift and work normally.
The display works again.

I am not sure if this was caused by worn linkage and I am unsure how to replace the assy at this time.

My question is...Would the later assembly work in the 2003?
Based on the part number it may. The button on the shifter was relocated.
I am thinking I should replace the assembly and the linkage to the transmission at the same time.

Any suggestions??
