A VQ motor can be built to handle 10,000 rpms. However, it makes no sense to rev a motor that high unless it continues to make power that high up.

IF the valve springs are better/upgraded this is not true. With my motor I am "setting" my rev limit at were the motor stops pulling/making power. Looking at how well the ports are on the stock heads, I would image the stock rev limit to be near the limit with stock springs. Just my two cents.

When you're getting into that kind of revs, there's an awful lot involved. Will the rods hold up, rings, etc.?
Although, I'd kill to hear the 18k that the F1 cars pull just one time. I'd never look at another woman. (well. maybe not.)

800 horsepower.

They are limited by the rules to 18k. A couple of years ago, they were at 20k.

Throw a 20B turbo in your Z and you can have your 10K rpms!

8400 here

as mentioned - what exactly is the point of the arbitrary 10K? Why not 10001?
