Default Trans or computer??

I was driving my 04 Z today and when I got to 70mph my slip light started flashing, I assume the ECU took it as my tires were actually slipping and cut power output. I then switched it over to the manual shift (I have the Auto/manual tranny) and the power was restored temporarily, when it occured again I turned off the traction control and the problem went away.
Also the console right next to the shifter gets warm to the touch when I drive. Any ideas of what may be going on? Any input would be great.
Thanks
Dave

I know that most of you will read this and think that yes the problem was solved because your tires were slipping. I know that they didn't slip.
No other warning lights were on. I just want to be sure I dont have an ECU or Tranny issue.

The transmission tunnel gets warm- that part is normal.

Have you changed tires/wheels recently?

Done any work to the wheels, suspension, etc?

I changed the tires around two months ago same size as the OEM tires. I have not been able to replicate the problem. Not sure what was going on.
