Hi!
My left side of the Z got hit in both wheels. I fixed the suspension but now I see that the grease start coming out of rear axle. Boot is not damaged or anything and seems like grease going through the boot connection with the axle shaft.
Should I remove the boot, add grease and seal back again?
Or may be my axle got hit and I need to change it?

 

rear differential bushing sounds like. spl makes them.

 

^ from the sound of things, its the axle - got damaged.

I would remove the axle and inspect it well......post pics and we can probably help a bit more..

Isn't the boot is on the rear drive shaft CV joint? The rear axle itself has a regular grease seal.

 

Uninstall the axle, it was damaged.
First, it was a hole in the boot (the one close to the wheel), little one, hard to see.


And the other side was damaged also...



Replaced the whole axle + the bearing (it was bad also - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6OvaQvAgAk)

Still, here some weird sounds from the drivetrain, couldn't specify where from exactly.
I guess I'll have to drive fro a little while to find out.

 

never seen grease on there

 

That happens probably when axle hit differential box, so the little metal cover of the axle bending and popping up.
