another noob question
so i just read road and track, and it showcased a bunch of modified Z's, and i was really impressed by the Motorex Z, it was all motor and quicker than the stillen supercharged z.... and in the motorex z, they changed the cam shafts (1100), and i was wondering how much of a difference the cam shafts made....and if i do get new cam shafts, if i want a turbo say the greddy tt, would the cam shafts better my performance?
Unless the cams are made for turbo applications they can hurt the performance. An NA car relies on the cams opening up the valves so the pistons can suck in the air/fuel. After market cams open the valves wider for longer effectively letting more air/fuel in the cylinder. In an FI car the air/fuel is pressurized and does not suffer from the same problems of air flow. The pressurized intake is forced in the cylinder as opposed to being sucked in.
