Power steering cooler installed
I thought this PS cooler installation would be easy but it took me some time lol.
Since my autozone cooler is bigger than the stock one, the two hoses fit there really tight.
The lower hose fit there ok but the top one has to make a U shape to fit there..so the hardline is LOWER than the cooler connector. I heard something that the hard line has to be on higher than where it connects to because of gravity or whatever.. Am i fine with the hard line and the hose being LOWER than where it connects to, and the fact that my line makes a U shape ?
I attached pics, you'll see what i mean.

I'd suggest getting a U-bend from a place that sells parts for air conditioning equipment. You could also make one from elbows soldered together. The hose won't last long with that sort of kink if it gets hot.

The fact that the fluid in the hose has to shoot upward, not downward, would it cause any delay or something like that?
This PS cooler looks shiny through the bumper lol But i hate that the cooler is tilted!!

Damn it's tilted too much. See how nasty the stock PS looks haha
The third pic shows the bottom of the cooler. There's like 1inch gap between the cooler and the bracket that i made with my old license plate lol.

hey, not a bad attempt but dont reuse that section of hose...you used the old oem hose coming off the line that has the bend in it right??
just remove that section of hose and buy about a few feet of basic heater hose from autozone that doesn't have any preformed bend in it and route it as you need to that top connection.
the bend is whats tilting your entire cooler at an angle....

OR
you can even buy more section of hose and connect to the new section you buy with one of these:
OR
go back to the next section of hardline back behind the core support and connect straight to that...

Here, this is what i mean!
go buy a single long hose, i would guess about 3 feet would be more than enough (measure just in case) and connect it to this second hardline back behind the core support and run it to the new larger cooler you bought.
you can do this to both lines if you want, but it seems as if your top line is the only one giving you problems...

I don't think it wouldbe really necessary to change it because I don't have a problem yet.
now that I think bout the tilt, it's really good for airflow. the air comming from the front side, as it hits the cooler, the air is lead to radiator. not just the cooler sucking allthe air. because my bracket is skinny, it lightly swings back n forth as the car moves. good for air flowing

I'm going to install my Stillen Oil cooler and a larger power steering cooler when I return in country... so this was thread was pretty informative. I wonder what benefit the PS cooler would have if was tilted back a little?
