The WTF noise thread
Repost from Driver. Issue is currently unresolved.
So, WTF is that noise right after shutdown, then 30sec later at the end?
Aside from needing an exorcist, I'm guessing some kind of freakish back current through the throttle body.

Vacuum canister for power brakes bleeding down because of leaking check valve? See if the brake pedal is unusually hard when the engine is off after the noise happens. That would verify the lack of vacuum in the canister. It should store enough for a couple applications of the brake for quite a while after the engine is off.

LMFAO what the hell! I think you do need an exorcism, there's gonna be some dead being stuck in your plenum or something of that nature. Sorry to be no help, but damn I wasn't expecting that!!! Haha

It's not my car. I just reposted it from driver. I did forward the ideas to him, here are the results, at least based on the testing ideas:
It's not the brake system.
Not the A/C either.
My suggestion, to rule out the TB, is to remove the air filter and cover the pipe after shutting it down to see if that mutes the sound. I still think it's coming from the TB...electrically induced noises from the throttle plate perhaps. The throttle body stays energized for around 30 seconds after shutdown (and the entire ECU). Listen carefully, you can hear some pops/clicks that do not sound pneumatic just after shutdown, and again before the 'screech'.

I have seen Cooling system do this, Replicate the noise and pay attention to the cooling system hoses and rad cap, you will see that 's where it is coming from .
Good luck
