hi there, i have a 04.5 touring, its a 5AT and im modding it out, CAI, kinetix v+ plenum, headers, test pipes, pulleys...so im interested in what u did and will it help me when im drag racing? and how is it done? i have alot of knowledge about bolt-on mods but i have no idea about what 3.9 final drive is and how its done so if u can help me out with some explanation i would be really thankful

 

Well, your heading the right way for now. As far as I know pulleys only help MT not sure if it does anything for us AT guys. Headers+ test pipes will sound veryyyy loud and raspy no matter what exhaust you have but if you dont mind that it will yield more than the HFC that I have. Anyways, first you will need a MT pumpkin or diff to get the 3.9FD to work on the At, also make sure its what you want as your pumpkin or driveshaft will spin faster and will make then sound louder as well. I highly recommend to get all the new shims and seals etc... you can buy that at the dealer for 160 bucks. After that go and take it to a tranny mechanic and have them install it for ya. Then let the fun begin!!! The 3.9FD is shorter gearing for your transmission which means faster shifting and stronger launches, if you can buy the TRansgo kit also as it will help with the launches and will hold the transmission from damaging.
