Default Please help me... about TCM and Auto Transmission...

About 1 month ago, I got SES lamp and gear indicator(P,R,N,D on RPM Meter) was gone.
Sometimes, It was good, I could get gear indicator.
But, It never back again.
So I went to Nissan Dealer ship and inspected.
Error cord was U1000(Communication error)
They said I had to replace TCM and Valve body.
It is over $2,000+tax.

Now, I looking for used TCM on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=370464446003
I don't know my 350z's original TCM part number, yet.
Which one fit to my 350z.

1. In this case, Does My 350z need to replace TCM and Valve body?
2. Which TCM fit to my 350z? (2004 350z convertible A/T )
A64-000 LN4 2Y01 / A64-000 LQ3 3928 / A64-000 LP5 3609
(Stock of eBay dealer)

Please Help me....

Start with checking the Factory Service Manual (FSM) when you have an issue like this to help you better understand the issue and what might need to be done to repair.

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/roadster/2004/at.pdf

The above is a link to the 2004 Roadster FSM A/T section. The DTC U1000 in the A/T section simply means other control units in the car have lost communication with the A/T TCM. Also note that the TCM and valve body are listed as one unit for your vehicle so the TCM you are looking at on eBay are definitely not the correct parts. That is also why the quote the dealer gave you was so high.

Check the harness condition and connections to the transmission as the first step.

davidv/Thank you. I sent message to there.
2000atlanticgt/After dealer ship, I went to local mechanic shop. They said I should change TCM. Because, When they check "CAN" communication, TCM doesn't send signal.
And, I asked about the harness condition and connections to the transmission to dealer ship and local mechanic. they said, "harness and connections, grounds are fine"
But, Probably they checked it just by scanner.

If my 350z has harness and connections, grounds problem, mechanic can know it just by scanner without disassembly?
And, In my case, Which harness and connections do I should check?

Please help me. I really need my car on christmas.........
