Does that mean I'm not going to see good number unless I go FI?
The engine goes back in tomorrow, the tuner wanted to tune it on Wednesday but I asked them to wait for me (Saturday) so I can film the dyno tune.

idle cold start (inside and outside)
normal idle (inside and outside)

Please and thank you sir.

No, it doesn't mean they won't work NA. Actually, most street cams exhibit the same type of specs to help the car idle but still improve output. I just say this because the centerline numbers (and resulant overlap) suggest a FI workable grind. But I think you'll find even the most modest "FI Cam" will still net some sizeable improvements NA.

Went to check on Z today, Techs ran into lil problem. We are trying to contact GTM to see if we have to leave or remove washer looking shim basically used for spacing where the Dual valves springs go. Other than that everything is going A-OK!!!

First thing I saw a I came in.

The carnage...

The tech also told me that now that the engine is out he would suggest maybe getting some pistons and rods, maybe a stroker. What do you all think and who on earth can give me a good price on those things for my VQ35HR??

^^^ whoa, if you have the money, GTM has stroker kits available. You would be the first with an HR to tread these waters to my knowledge.

Good luck on what you decide.

Hmmm... I wonder, what would a 3.8L stroker do on an N/A?

Before you spend your hard earned cash, I would really talk it over in depth with your builder.
Are you planing on staying NA? That will affect your piston specs. Maybe high comp if your up to it.
If you go FI in future, I would mimic similar set ups seen in the FI section.

Consider price to power ratio...
Your car use....
The wife getting mad...
How long it will be to complete... (if you don't have another car)
The epic win or fail...

Good luck to you. Way to step up to the plate.

If you got persuade by your tech that easily having so little knowledge of what needs to be done then i'm guessing money isn't an issue for you. Win or fail i'm very interested in following your NA HR build seeing as you probably have the funds to see it thru

Well I have decided not to buy the Stroker Kit. I will see what the dyno pulls out with just the cams and GtM stage2 valvetrain kit. The Wife was Jealous and pissed so I will wait on the stroker and TT Kit. I am also trying to find Long tube Headers from either Fast intentions or SG Motorsports let's see who replies first.

^scratch that... LOL I've been doing some research behind my wife's back and I found some Wesico 11.0:1 Pistons and some Brian crowed Connecting Rods. What do you all think guys??? I ask all these question since I'm the only one the world trying this.

You want a high compression NA HR?
Or a high compression stroked NA HR?

I wouldn't do 11.0:1 pistons if you plan on ever going twin turbo.

I highly doubt your the only one in the world doing this. Also I told you to research because 90 percent of the people on here have no idea what their talking about. Do you want to know what your going to spend a few grand on or do you just want to believe some people on the internet? What your doing has been done numerous times on many engines and the same rules apply. What your doing will be geared towards a NA setup not turbo so if you go through with this, TT will never really be a viable option.

Gotcha...

And I was thinking doing a N/A HR non stroker. Just get the pistons 11.0:1 and bore out the block .5 since the stock is 95.5 on HR pistons and these Wesico pistons are 96mm. But I'll think it through and do some more research like Jiggy says, Before I spend some money.

As previously stated, with that compression ratio, you will have to stay NA.
Again, gathering as much credible info as possible is key, and i hope everything goes well.

Jiggy brings up a good point, don't let yourself be guided by others opinions, but by facts.

P.S. Once your done with your project, make sure to post 1/4 mile times
