So i was driving the Z home and when i parked i heard a noise that wasn't familiar coming from the engine bay. I took a video(sort of, more of a sound clip) so you guys can help me identify it. Listen to the video and you'll notice a slight whining noise that gets louder as i rev. I'm thinking its a pump going bad, maybe fuel pump?

almost forgot, mods are motordyne 5/16" spacer and k&n filter.

 

Make a similar sound to my gf's power steering pump which is on it's way out. Honestly not sure though, can't hear much over the engine rev.

 

yea its a little hard to make out the noise with the engine rev but thats the only way i can make it sound louder.

 

What oil filter do you have on it?

I have seen some aftermarket filters cause a whine like that, The anti drain back valve will squeal in them sometimes on the 3.5

 

I'm using the k&n oil filter right now, is k&n known to cause that noise?

 

Would be interested to hear which ones do this. Never heard of that happening before.
