Default Oil cooler temp sensor port?

Alright so I've been searching for the last few days and nothing. Both here, driver and google. I'm putting an oil cooler (GTM HD cooler) on my TT G35 and I want to put an oil temp gauge in too. I don't want to put it in the pan, with the spacer it's too low to the ground. I know I can get a sensor sandwich adapter thing but I'd rather not stack that much with the filter. (Already removed factory oil warmer assembly) So now here is my question. Can I drill and tap an 1/8" NPT port for the sensor into the sandwich adapter for the oil cooler? I'd put it on the side before the cooler so it would as close to pan temp as possible, only difference is the oil has gone through the pump. Getting the cooler saturday, maybe installing then, maybe waiting for next oil change, not sure yet.

Thanks in advance!

bump for 2 days and almost 2 views and no answer yet Still searching google and no answer. I may just tap into the turbo feed line for a temp reading.

Tap the pan, run the sensor on the side of the pan. If the sensor hits the ground while on the side of the pan, you have bigger problems.
