Default Finished painting my valve covers..PICS..

Had these painted awhile back but never put a clear coat on them. Finally put some clear on last week. let me know what you think. I can steps on what i did. It's pretty durable and chip resistant (ask me how i know, lol) hopefully the paint can stand up to the engine heat fading wise..i did use high heat engine paint though.

Getting ready in install new spark plugs, gaskets, new oil and filter. Only thing left is to pick up a new PCV valve. i stuck an old one in there for now. I bought these new valve covers awhile back before people figured out how to put in new spark plug O rings.

You're so "Type R" Andrew. I take it you're leaving the engine cover off? I dig it man, in for pics installed.

Thanks fellas. it came out a lot better than i thought it would. almost flawless. i remember it took me almost an hour just taping it up and using a razor to get everything perfect .

those valve covers are actually brand new valve covers. the spark plug tube seals are built into the valve covers which is the reason why i bought them in the first place. i have oil on my spark plugs on my driver side valve cover.

i actually got them through the dealership with a 10% off for working in the automotive industry. I believe the total came out to 275 for both.

I bought this before people started figuring out that you can break off the tube seals and put new ones in. THe cheaper route. i wish i would of known but at least i will have spare valve covers if i ever run into this problem again, which most likely i will.

great minds think alike. def going to get one. Going to leave the engine cover off. I've been polishing my front engine timing cover. not fully finished but it looks a lot cleaner/shinier than it did.

Got my driver side valve cover on today. started at 3:30 but the sun went down.

Pics of my driver's side spark plugs. maybe this is why my car felt sluggish.

wow. my buddy and i were just talking about this. thanks for showing some progress
photos. some obx black fuel rails would be hawt.

you've got a 380rs clone look going and i'm really digging it.

def would like to add this to my engine dress build (which might happen soon
as i'll hopefully be getting a job - long story).

keep plugging. you're onto something here. classy.

thanks a lot lgear080. no problem. looks better in person as well.

i finished this afternoon. all in all, took about 7 hours which is not far off from what the dealer takes for the time. It wasn't fun but doesn't look bad. i don't want to take final pics until i send my plenum and intake pipe off for wrinkle black coating. unless anyone else have some ideas for the plenum color.
