wrap plenum in cf. matte or clear your choice. this can be done.
there is a company in jland doing it. i've seen some wild pics of r34 intake pipes
and such.
i'm a bit psycho, so pardon my insanity. ben from bp may know more.
again, this is full of win.

i took a spray bottle of water, sand paper ranging from 80, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1000, and 2000.
i used mother's billet polish. worked the best. i also have never dull but it didn't take the scratches as well as i would like in between grits
i'm only half way done on the front timing cover . that picture is on the stage about 600 grit sandpaper. will look a lot shinier than that.

bump, im replaceing my vc and want to paint them first. does this hold up?

I had mine done professionally and it did not. Compared to the powder coated ones they looked like crap and the paint began to bubble in one spot and had become brittle from so much heat.

Just don't do it with standard spray paint like the civics do, or you'll smell like a rolling paint can when you drive. Get some high heat engine enamel from AutoZone, and it should hold up if your prep is done properly.
