No i did not drink it.. but it was a catchy thread title.
After some 3500 rpm miss along with some pinging, Im about to try the seafoam thing out. 96k miles, de, religious oil changes and ONLY good gas stations.
I run NGK iridium at normal heat range, but since Im switching to Nitrous next month, we will be repalcing w 1 to 2 degrees cooler anyways, so since i needed new plugs and was afraid of all the myths etc about seafoam.. figured its a good time.
Whats the point of this thread?
Just an FYI in case someone has the same fears and wonders if the stuff will actually work to clean things up and make a noticeable difference.
Im hoping its the key to my engine noise issues.
(fingers crossed)
Will report back after it burns off.. just adding to the gas for now.. three full tanks with one third bottle in each.. then will buy more and run in the plenum and oil.... but for now, starting the simple way to determine if its maybe a clogged injector..

Op ive used seafoam about 4 times already on various cars, I did it to my G35 and my previous 350z.
1/3 into the vacuum
and the rest into the tank..
Ive had mixed results.. It never actually did anything at all.. I never noticed any better mpg's, and it really just made my car run even more rough.. I used it on my 350z and experienced an extremely rough idle for 6months.. prior to using the seafoam, It idled perfectly.. When I used it in my g35, it didnt do a damn thing..

any idea as to what was the condition that was making it run rough?
Fouled plugs? Had to be something past just having the seafoam run thru the car. Just curious how far you dug...

extremely rough at idle sounds like an air leak to me to be honest.. maybe the old carbon build up was pluggin up the intake plenum gasket. you may have had a leak beforehand and didnt expose it until that time... just curious.
As my rough idle was fixed immediately by very lightly tightening of my Kinetix plenum bolts. .. spray some carb cleaner around the gasket, if idle jumps, there ya go. Youd be surprised.

wow.. did not see THAT commin..
so i poured half a bottle into a new tank of Chevron supreme.. filled the tank halfway per the mythological instructions.
What happened next would amaze and astound me.
Upper plenum lit on fire and blew off the car forceably, shattering my nose and giving me third degree burns on my face.. i am currently in the hospital ER right now, in shock, and using my350z.com mobile to post on the go.
IM KIDDING.
Its fine, nothing bad. im sure its only now beginning to disolve stuff as its sitting warm after running for 15 miles.
I just really hope that comes up in a seafoam google search result now.. haha!

k so i seafoamed it up yesterday..
ive been running it in my tank since thursday or so.
I added it to the other big vacuum line in my plenum, not the brake booster.. and it chugged up pretty easy.. never stalled, even when i dunked it at the end to kill it out.
So it started smoking, a little, and it did get cloudy for a sec, but i gotta say, nothing like i thought.
They say its the carbon burning out, and im torn.. is it the carbon buring? Or is it really just the seafoam burning. Hmm.
It didnt smoke when i ran it thru my gas, so it cant just be the seafoam buring white... so im back to believeing the white is indeed from my carbon..
SO...
run it again until it comes out w no smoke?
I think i shall.
