i would totally do this over building/Fi the VQ as well.

You beat me to it!!! I was gonna post a thread soon on a build I'm about to do. I'm also going for 500 rwhp, but trying on a LS1. I might go with LS2, we'll see.

sounds easy as that but idk....is the z ecu still in the car to run all the sensors and everything for emissions purposes or will it be ran off the ls ecu...I always thought this couldnt be done here where there is obd scan and have it be inspectable...

Yes the Z ECU stays in the car with the LS swap.

Also with respect to inspection. You have to check with your county and state. Most states will let you swap a motor and ALL of the emissions equipment from the same year of your car or newer. Some states don't even care about that.

gl i will be keeping an eye on the build thread. im in the process of selling my turbo set up and built motor out of the honda to buy an ls1 for the g. i would love to get my hands on a ls2 but there still a little pricey for me.

Ive been saying ever since i got my Z, that when the VQ goes, an LSx is going in. Good to see i wont have to fab everything up when i do it. This is going to be badass.

I'm using an Electromotive TEC GT standalone engine management and ignition setup. Quite a bit more high end than I will ever need but at least I have some of the extra capabilities if I want them.
