Default 03-06 Transmission Issues?

So I read a post about the 2003-2006 350Z's having transmission problems but I also read it was only 2003-2004 and was wondering which it is. Because I know about the OC issues in the 2006 which is already a concern for me since I'm mainly considering a 2006 350Z in July. I searched just about every where but couldn't find the actual answer I was looking for besides the fact that the 009 Transmission fixes it but I wasn't sure if they started putting those in the 05-06 or what.

Thanks for the replies!

My major concern in buying is it's 2011 and I'm looking for a Z around 50k miles so the warranty will only be in affect for about 10k miles or 6 months after I purchase.

Is there a way to see if it's already been replaced

I had my '03 tranny replaced under warranty at 25,000 miles. 3rd gear synchro was on the way out. Up to 60k now and no problems = D

Yea I'm just gonna hop that the 350Z I have with 50k miles won't give me problems assuming it drives and shifts smoothly when I test drive it. Then the OC issue I guess I'll just be sure to add oil weekly if I have to or maybe I'll luck out.

Mine was replaced at 40k, my car now has plenty of abuse on it and 131k on it.

This is because of the DBW electric throttle system. I used to have the same problem, but you'll have to learn to compensate for the minor delay in the electronics. I solved this by letting off the gas a fraction of a second before disengaging the clutch during shifts. It takes a little getting used to, but most cars you'll be driving from now on will probably have this feature, so you might as well get used to it now! My 09 WRX has the electronic throttle too, it responds a little bit faster than the Z but is still a little noticable, so I also have to compensate on that one.

Pengu, my 03 hasn't had any OC problems fwiw.. I've had it since basically new and have done all the oil changes, was never more than *maybe* a half a quart low after 3000 miles or so of flogging. My car also skipped the problem with the front end alignment issues, so maybe you'll have the same luck! (It does have the rear axle clicking sound, but it's a relatively easy fix and doesn't affect its performance)

It all depends on the car, was mainly before 05. I never had an issue with my 03, and I have over 100k miles on it and boosted. Yet other guys have gone 2 or 3 times. Luck of the draw
