will the stock dual mass flywheel hold up with large hp mods
does anybody know if the stock dual mass flywheel will hold up to significant hp mods (+100hp)
I realize the stock clutch is most likely not up to the job and that will be upgraded. but I'm interested in keeping as much street drivability as possible and noise to a minimum. any thoughts?
thanks

well,
I have seen G35's running super chargers with stock clutches putting over 350RWHP to the wheels and they were fine,
Although, They are now upgrading to the lighter flywheel by either Nismo / or JWT.

that 350rwhp on s/c cars is only followed by 300ft-lb of torque... when you get close to 380-400ft-lbs, the stock clutch cannot take it... trust me.
my point is HP is not as important as torque, in regards to clutch slippage.
the os giken clutch i have is completely streetable, and is good for over 550hp.

The flywheel was in great shape! It looked so good I kept it and wouldn't hesitate in putting it back in if something happens to the JWT. I was putting to the wheels 144 rwhp on the shot I was using and I would guess I went thru 20 10lb bottles before I did my latest mods! The last dyno (dynojet) before the latest mods showed 407 rwhp / 418 torque under the bottle.

I was paying $2.25 a lb but just last month I got a good deal on a N20 pump station so now I have my own! ( my cost= about a $1 now)! Come on down for a "free fill up"!!
