Default Master Cylinder/ Clutch Slipping

Hey guys,

Driving around town on Monday, and out of nowhere, my clutch is stuck to the floor! Getting no power to the wheels, I rev it high and finally pull into the nearest store, a walmart.

Get the car towed to the local Nissan dealership. I have the extended warranty (6yrs/75K miles). They say its the master cylinder. I come back on Wednesday and they keep telling me that my clutch is slipping. I brush them off, my clutch was 100% normal before the master went out.

I come to pick it up, and wow, the clutch is so messed up! I release the clutch and rev it up to 4K Rpm, I move only a few feet!! Its slipping so bad. I have no choice but to leave it there overnight.

I come back today with the argument that it only started slipping, and is messed up because the master cylinder went out.

I can even prove it because I was there 2 weeks ago getting my rear diff bushing replaced! My clutch was fine then, and they would have noted it down otherwise.

They say that the warranty does NOT cover clutches no matter what!

Has anybody had their clutch replaced under warranty. They are charging me $540 for labor and I will be getting the JWT clutch/fly installed.

I went them to cover the labor though. It feels like I'm getting shafted.
Any advice, opinion is appreciated.

Sorry for the long post, just had to vent

Does the pedal have any free play at the top of the stroke? It's possible the clutch wasn't adjusted properly when they replaced the master cylinder, and that is causing the clutch to slip.

Shops must make money. Bring-your-own parts can mean an additional fee. Of course Nissan will NOT guarantee this install. Considering the problems with this dealer do you trust them?

I had my clutch flywheel and transmission replaced all under warranty...after I was out of warranty. It's all about the issue and the dealership you go to. This was an Infiniti dealer and around here, infiniti cares about the customer, nissan cares about the money (except in parts...they like me there

There is some freeplay at the top of the stroke. When depressing, there is no resistance, then you can feel the hydraulic. I'll bring that up to them. I am calling 1800 Nissan 1, to see if I can get some more help.
