Transmission shifter linkage problem?
I recently got a new transmission that did not come with the shifter linkage assembly (what you bolt the shifter into and the gold piece that attaches to the bottom of the shifter)
I ordered one from turbo toys and it does not line up with the holes. The transmission is an 04' but the part is also from the same year. am i missing something? Ill have pictures up in a little bit.
Also, does anyone have a FSM?

I'm doing a manual swap and I'm missing a lot of nuts and bolts as well as some other small parts. I was gonna see if I was missing anything else with the FSM and order it. I'll get pictures when I get home.

Here's what it's supposed to look like:
Also see the pictures here:

It looks to me like your shifter housing has been broken and repaired. The ones in the other pictures I've seen have the two mounting ears at the top even with the rest of the housing. In the first picture of your housing, you can see they're stepped down and angled just enough to keep it from lining up with the lower bolt holes.
Also looking at the first picture, the color of the metal where the tab attaches to the housing is slightly different, making it look like a repair might have been done there.

If you know someone that's really good at welding aluminum with TIG, it should be OK.
The problem is getting it in exactly the right place so the linkage will work correctly. I doubt there's much room for error there. Have them prep and tack the joints, then do a test fit to make sure it shifts properly before finishing the welds.
