First 2 Gears?
I have tried to use the search function to try to find any information on this issue but I couldn't find anything that was really what I was looking for so sorry if this is a re-post... When I start from a standing stop, it seems to take me a long time to get up to speed. At first I thought that I was just shifting too early so I tried to rev higher and it sounds like that just makes noise rather than help. When I hit 3rd gear, I have no problem getting up to speed but it's just in 1st and 2nd that I seems to have a lot of trouble picking up speed. I am relatively new to Z's and this forum so I am not sure if this is a regular thing with the car. I did consider skipping gears but after reading a more recent thread that partially relates to my issue it seems that that can mess up the syncros in the Z.

It's probably the clutch....but like they said, pretty early for a clutch to be worn out on such a new car!
It's definitely NOT the synchros...those really only come into play during the act of shifting....not how the car accelerates/decelerates once in gear.
Do what davidv said. Put the car in 5th or 6th at like 25-30mph. Floor the gas. What SHOULD happen is the car accelerates....just.....very, VERY slowly.
If the rpm's start to raise rapidly, but the car doesn't go anywhere.....clutch is worn.

If its still under warrenty take it to a dealer and list every problem you have with your car so that it can be on the nissan file. If not buy the best extended warrenty protection plan that nissan offers with a zero deduct, since you seem to have so many problems with your car.

Yeah :/ I am still waiting on my warranty to transfer!! It is taking such a long time it's ridiculous. It is supposed to be a bumper to bumper warranty for 130,000 miles totally covered. Lets see how that plays out, hopefully it is what he claimed it to be and I can just get everything checked up

"Clutch is probably worn, and just can't handle the torque imposed under the shorter gears."
Torque load on the clutch is the same in any gear for the same engine rpm and throttle opening. If the engine produces 200 foot-pounds of torque at 4000rpm with WOT, that's how much torque is going through the clutch regardless of what gear the transmission is in.

LOL...if you bought the car recently "used" this is probably why they got rid of it. they either were beating it up and dumping the clutch in 1st and going to second to do "burn outs" or they just beat it up 1st and 2nd. You may also be "riding" the clutch when starting to pull off and not realizing it. No matter what anyone here says...YOU as the driver are in control of the clutch so if it is not a "defect" then you or the previous owner have done something wrong. 55k on my Z and i beat her up every time i drive....NO ISSUE.
Simply put from the 2nd post..CLUTCH SLIPS!
To confirm if you are inclined this is an easy a$$ test to determine the "slip"
start off and just take off and watch the rpm's...if they shoot up and the car doesn't move as it should then you have a clutch that is slipping kind sir.
