Default nna not following their warranty?

My powertrain warranty has expired but before it happened I got the long block replaced for low oil, long story short, after dealing with all the mistakes from the dealer that screwed up the engine replacement, nissan decided to give my 350z warranty for the engine and "internal parts" until 100k. well heres what happens next, the car still burning oil like crazy, I decided to start another oil test and during the test I get a SERVICE ENGINE SOON light the day before I went to the dealer during that "come back in a 1000 miles" crap. Well the new dealer that I started the test with says that I need to replace a CAMSHAFT sensor, part # "23731-AL61A" and according to nissan thats NOT part of the engine or internal parts. Can anybody clarify this please, I have spoken to a couple of "local shops" and according to them it should be replaced under warranty if I have it.

any help will be greatly appreciated!!

yeah I figured they wouldn't keep their word anyway unless the engine itself blows up which wouldnt be a bad thing either

From the Warranty manual...

ENGINE
Cylinder heads and block and all internal parts, rocker
covers and oil pan, valve train and front cover, timing chain
and tensioner, oil pump, water pump and fuel pump, fuel
injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds and supercharger,
flywheel, seals, and gaskets.
Nothing said about covering sensors.

sensors arent an internal part.

the good news is it should be fairly cheap in comparison to other actual internal engine issues on the z.

They should be easy enough to change yourself to be honest...not very hard at all...IF you have to do it yourself that is...

If I remember correctly, cam sensors are like a 5 minute job. Were those sensors replaced with the new block or are they still the old ones?

Call Scott at Fontana Nissan, if i remember right they are under $90 each and take less than 5 minutes to swap out. Its either a single 10mm or 12mm bolt and one cannon plug each to disco and reconnect.

very good question, i need to find out what they did, but another thing that pissed me off that I found out is that according to the dealer if I pay for labor is about $150 but if nissan pays for labor on my car under warranty would be about $47 for this job. because I called nna from the dealer and they wanted the estimate over the phone.

nissan listen to this, you will never get another dime in labor from me or even a newer car. I love my car, i take care of it like a baby but nissan treat their customers like garbage.

And how is this cam position sensor going to fix the burning oil problem?

those are two seperate issues buddy. apparently the dealer cannot duplicate my quarter of oil consumption during a 1000 mile interval. :\
the service advisor said that they have special technique for the consumption test, so guess what, it works for their 1000-mile test but not for me. how about that?
