Default JWT Clutch flywheel combo in trouble after only 2 yrs?

So, I upgraded my clutch flywheel and went with JWT. I haven't raced or done any major racing or anything that I can remember, that could have strained my drivetrain.

So...as it stands, it seems that it's days are numbered. I press on the gas, and it revs heavily, then finally after about 3 seconds of stepping on the peddle completely, it finally begins to move, slowly. I have a loud RsR exhaust, so this isn't so nice for my neighbors to hear either, i'll bet.

I've lost touch with this whole scene, and I initially bought the light flywheel and clutch with the intention of racing, but it's just been a daily driver.

Question, Do lighter flywheels and clutch upgrades actually last less time and wear faster?

I raced on my stock combination many many times, through a 1/8th mile drag, and it survived for about 6 and a half years or so. Now I buy this JWT combo, and it's already done?

sounds like it was adjusted improperly at installation and youve been slipping it... and now its slipping on YOU.

Mines only 5k miles old, but grabs like hell. Im very easy on my clutches tho.

I dunno, it was really sensitive and seemed to run well when installed, never had any issues. the car at least still runs and takes me to work, but im taking it in this weekend.

Any truth to the idea that this jwt light flywheel clutch upgrade would have a shorter life span vs oem?

It's what a buddy suggested.

nope.. its jsut that it is an aftermarket aprt that wasnt assembled by Nissan, can be adjsuted wrong, and since its a performance product, will likely be wailed on much harder than stock... proper break in period is an absolute must or you glaze and burn the friction surface before it mashes itslef to the flywheel enuff to create a nice bond.

500 full miles of very light engagement, stop n go driving, no heavy acceleration to slip it.

worst case scenario if its toast *( sounds like it btw) , just replace the flywheel surface and get a new clutch disc and you can reuse all the other parts. will be about a touch less half price.

I'm taking it in tommorow w/ the shop that installed.

I'll post an update, see what happened.

Sucks cuz I haven't really driven it hard. With my oem clutch set up I really raced the hell out of it. We're talking 60 passes on the drag strip. Since the upgrade I haven't even had a chance to race, and ***** already breaking on me.

So, it was burned and complete toast, after only 18,000 miles. Goodbye JWT, last time i buy that clutch. It's a good thing I didn't have a turbo, it would have only lasted 2,ooo miles.

I had the shop order an alternative.

Only 2 days on the drag strip with mine, plenty of days on the roadcourse and autocross. Right now i'm sitting at 95k on my JWT clutch and flywheel.

This is the first time I've heard of the JWT failing after so few miles. Everyone else with the setup loves it
