i bought a seal and cover plate with seal pressed into it. i pulled the dowl pins out that pisition the plate to make forbsmoother install. grease the crap out of it and carfully slide the seal on. the seal is very finiky and can fold easy creating a leak right after install. be very carful and make sure its not getting hung up. i had to do mine twice because i didnt realize how touchy these were until i f'd it up.

I was thinking of using a feeler gauge to ensure the rubber didn't flip like you have referenced... think it can be done with the plate installed?

My shop changed mine out at 105K when I got my clutch replaced. They actually called and asked me if I wanted them to do it and I gave the go ahead simple because my miles were high and didnt want to have to pay someone to go back and change it later due to a leak.
