This is the only place I think this question could get answered, you here are all the VQ geniuses. Please don't move this thread to the G35 forum, i'd like to know from you guys if there is any difference between the two. As of now I havne't heard of anyone doing any sort of swap. I -have- heard (heard) that ours is a little more tame with the fuel mapping, etc. Is this what makes our cars have 7hp less from the factory ? Or is it all attributed to us having a less-noisy intake?
Thanks guys

Yes they are different, to compensate for the less air you receive from your intake. I know this because of an interview with a Nissan engineer in Autoweek (i beleive) about the differences between the G and Z.

The ecu connectors are all different between the 350Z, G35 coupe, and G35 sedans. They all have different pin locations...but you might be able to convert to the 350Z ecu if you have a jumper harness made to go between the engine wire harness and the ecu itself. Several of the Honda swaps use this to go between engines with different years and OBD-1/OBD-2 levels.

TechnoSquare's ECU program upgrade is the way to go IMO. It avoids all the hardware issues noted in the above posts.
If I understood Danny correctly, their upgrade is based on the 350Z program... only better.
The driveability and performance improvements are well worth the cost. I speak from experience.

G35Coupe and Sedan ECU programs are very similar to our 350Z ecu program. there is no need to put in a 350z ecu in your car.
your stock program just as a little less aggressive tuning due to the fact your stock airbox sucks... but almost everything else is relatively the same- I ran my car with a reflashed G35Coupe ECU for a few weeks while my ecu was out and about doing testing work-

technos also has a way to reset the immobilizer but its a bit tricky-
they have to remove a chip on the motherboard and blank the memory-
but they will be receiving a consult within a few weeks and they should be able to do alot more with customer cars...
