Default Possible trans swap steal.

Found an 06 transmission for 300 bucks to replace my 03 which is now getting pretty bad going to 3rd or 4th. Compared to others i have found its a steal. Now when i go to see this thing in person what things should i look for? Any immediate signs to look for or anything?
Also i know its a transmission and just about everything is complicated about it but how easy should installation be?

The transmission on the Z is actually really easy to pull. When I had mine warrantied it took the dealership 4 hours to pull the old one and put the new one in. The hardest parts are the bolts on top of the tranny to the engine.

Without digging into the tranny itself, 'quality check' can be hit or miss. As for installation, I can't say EXACTLY for Z's themselves, but I know I was able to pull my old 5.0's tranny with MAYBE 1 hour of labor, tops. It's a cinch - and it's really self explanatory. With my 5.0 it was as easy as removing the exhaust (maybe 20 minutes), driveshaft (5 minutes), and finally the tranny itself (give it a half hour - normally the top bolts in any tranny are a complete pain in the *** to get to. Hopefully you've got plenty of extensions). Easy stuff, man.

swapping transmissions is cake. like stated above hardest part is the tedious bolts on the top of the tranny.

Assuming you checked 06 fits 03.

CD009 from the '06 isn't going into an '03 without some modifications. There are several threads about this.
