Default VQ35 engine question

Does anyone know the differences between the VQ35 in a Pathfinder vs a 350Z? I am just curious what accounts for the HP differences. I think it is 240 vs 287. Apart from intake, exhaust and maybe a more aggressive fuel map is there much? Is it the same lift and duration on the cams? Same plenum? Same compression? My wife has an 02 Pathfinder and I can't really see the plenum without taking off the plastic engine cover.

Also, a while back people were asking if you could put a Pathfinder plenum on a 350Z to improve performance since it might not slope down and air starve the front two cylinders. I did a search and can't find that thread. What was the outcome?

Thanks for any help.

Im 99% sure it does have higher compression; and is on a different setup, cause altho it is 47hp lower, it is only 1ft/lb of torque lower.

ok, from Kelly Blue Book, the engine specs show that the prime differences are:

Bore/Stroke:
3.82x3.26 (224 CID) Pathfinder with a 10.0:1 cr
3.76x3.21 (214 CID) VQ35DE in all the cars with a 10.3:1 Compression ratio

that has got to be hosed but apparently noone knows cause in some places it says 3.82x3.26, some say 3.76x3.20

It is most likely the same as ours 3.76x3.21 but with a 10.0:1CR

probably has the exhaust manifolds tweaked for low end torque, but they breathe pretty well cause it's max hp is at its 6000 rpm redline
