My guess is they've heard all the problems with ATI with regards to timing and took another look at their product before releasing it. I'd rather they spend some extra time testing and tweaking then releasing too soon just to have the same problems as ATI.

Default Greddy is cool

Perhaps Greddy has decided to not release the product until it is fully tested and working properly? Doing something right sometimes takes a little longer.

Sometimes testing reveals serious problems that can blow your schedule out of the water.

They have a good reputation so I wouldn't assume lame-ness just yet.

We have built several cars with Greddy Turbo kits and they are all running nice and strong (still ;-))

I love the people who think Greddy is lame for not torturing their customers.

I'm not a professional engine tuner so when I put on my Greddy kit, I'd like it to be pretty reliable. I don't want the engine to have to be tuned perfectly or even to a 99.5% confidence interval. I want to know that if something goes slightly wrong I won't need to pony up the cash for a new engine.

Greddy understands that most of its customers are like me or they would not be buying turbo kits, they'd be designing their own.

Because they don't have all the parts yet (manifolds are en roue from Japan from what they told me). I know becase we have 2 nearly complete kits sitting at our CA warehouse as we speak.

And don't believe what you read about vendors saying they have 10 + kits coming....it is complete BS.

Are you a greddy authorize vendor? The reason I ask is that when I talked to greddy only the authorized vendors will recieve one kit each at first (a total of 10 for the year for all vendors). I am number five on the list at options. No one has recieved anything from greddy. The ship date was this monday, so if they were shipped out most people wonldn't recieve them till friday. I already know mine won't be in till the first of the year but thats ok with me. I got a great price.

No we are not an authirized Greddy dealer.....but our distributor (who we buy Greddy from) is.

I am not debating what GReddy told you..just telling you that it conflicts with what I have been told, and what we have seen so far. We have 2 nearly complete kits at the warehouse right now, and from what I am told, are only missing the manifolds. I could ask one of the guys to open it up tomorrow and look themselves. My understanding is that the manifolds are now in the country or arriving this week..and then kits will beging shipping to end users.

What I meant about the kit quantity is that I have seen vendors advertising that they have 10 kits coming, 7 kits coming, with 1 or 2 left, I assume as a means of getting people to buy from them as opposed to someone else.

first, it's been shown that the kits are arriving (albeit in pieces) right now.

second.. ATI released their kit a long time ago. Sure, they were quick to market.. but look at the customer satisfaction. I'd wait another year for this kit, if it improved quality and safety.

I spoke to Greddy today. They said the kits should be shipped this week. Let us hope it happens.

Yes... all the distributors have the Intercooler kits already. My intercooler kits should actually be here today. However my 2 turbo systems are SUPPOSED to be shipped Friday... delayed from the last time they said last Friday.

No big deal really. I only have 2 kits coming, both already paid for. One for my Z, and one for whoever just has to have one after I take them for a ride in my Z!

Ill take some pics this weekend. My Z is going to parked on the dyno lift the second I get verification that the kits are shipped.

I am starting to get a little anxious here.

Also to 2nd what the Z-1 fellow said... Greddy claims to be waiting for the exhaust manifolds only. Also to verify what else he said... no one is getting 5, 6, 7+ of these kits. Even the LARGEST distributors that have been around since day one are getting 3 or 4 of them. Shops are lucky to get 2. I had to prepay to get 2 kits.

Phunk and Adam,

Are either of you going to install the kit with the settings and parts that it comes with straight from Greddy or are you going to fine tune the kit by using something else as replacement or in addition to what it comes with?

thanks

Hey guys just to add my .02, it was very hard to find anyone out here in southern cali to install the greddy kit. when i called greddy they reccommended stillen. when i called stillen they 1st said that they sell it and then they started to pitch thier super charger. i told them that i wanted the greddy kit and after about 30min of arguing they finally said that they would not sell it because it was not smog legall. i then went to Superautobacs and they said that they would both sell and install any aftermarket kit they had for the z. but they reccommended that i wait on the tt and see what the outcome is (any blown engines) they are really pushing the vortech supercharger and said that it is a very well built piece of work. i may go with that...what do you think?

Hey Folks,

I stopped by Greddy yesterday and they had a pallet of right side manifolds outside and were cleaning them for shipment, which they hoped was today. I am having my TT kit install at SP Engeering (sp-power.com). Stillen told me they would not install the TT until it had passed CARB. They told me the same thing about their own SC kit before it had passed CARB.

Honestly...I don't know if we will be installing these as it stands. Not that there is anything wrong with the kit mind you, just that experience has taught me its probably not worth the potential headackes. With kits such as this, the price tag is high, and as a result, people expect it to be a pain free operation - the reality is, it rarely is. Problems can and do arise, especially with a new kit going onto a relatively new car. As such, we will offer the 2 kits we have for sale to anyone who wants them, but unless someone is willing to build the car the right way from the ground up, at this point I see no reason to rush into installing these.

Good Points Made Z1. Do you know who is going to be getting them in California? The thing that also concerns me is that in an article (Motor Trend I think) they stated that it took the GReddy team about a day to install the kit - but they had 4 people working on it... And if Ican guess right - that was probably their own engineers, and maybe even the ones who engineered the thing. Wonder how long it would take for a decent tuner shop to install? What do you think - Adam?

greddy estimate 20 hours install time which = a week for me because i move much slower then the avg. guy when it comes to install. I have to check it 20 times to make sure its on right.
