Problem with car starting
Hi everyone. A pretty weird story.
I was at the Nissan Dealership last week because i needed them to take off the rim locks on my stock wheels, they did it for free, but it ended it up being the worst day ever and i ended up being stuck there for SEVERAL hours.
As i get in the car to leave, i start the car, but oops, it doesnt start. (It was pretty embarassing in front of the 5 staff members - girls - that were there lol)
For 30 minutes me and my friend couldnt start it. We decide to push it out of there and place it in the parking. For 2 hours, me, my friend and Nissan people couldnt figure out the problem (The nissan guys only helped for 10-15 minutes)
Later on, my friend who is also a mechanic shows up and is trying many different things, but nothing works. Then, he realizes that i have no coolant left. Suddenly it clicked that the day before, my engine was rly hot so i had stopped driving it to let it cool down. I searched on this forum and saw that in the worst case scenario, the engine could be totally screwed up (which is not my case) or things could have melted (i dont think its my case neither, but hopefully nothing is even damaged).
Well, that was last week... And i obviously added coolant. Since then, the car has been running well and everything was perfect. Today was another hot day here in Montreal, and at 7 am i had to move my car out of the driveway, and boom, it doesnt start.
* I forgot to say something, last week at the Nissan dealership, it finally worked when we put the car on neutral, backed it up with our own hands, and tried starting it... So today when it happened again, i put it on neutral, let it backed up, started it, and it worked... *** What can that be?!?!
Please let me know if you can help. It is not the battery by the way everything else works

well when it happens, the engine is trying to start but it does not start successfully. Is that what you mean by ''turning over'' ?
I have this problem in my 05. I have an aftermarket key and an aftermarket alarm system. I never had the problem at first but then it started randomly for no apparent reason. I took it to the dealer and they ran that magic nissan version of the OBDII and it popped up as the key not being programmed to the ignition. Check that out and see if the chip in your key has gone bad.
EDIT** I should mention that I doubt it has anything to do with my aftermarket alarm, I just threw that out there in case you have one as well then maybe I could assume it is so. My key is not a Nissan factory key though, and the dealer I bought the car from only had 1 copy in their inventory so I don't know what kind of key I have but I know I got a NAT code (what they called it I have the print out in my car somewhere) and I believe the code was 1614 and 1615 and the snap shot showed the code was thrown at start up. It does not cause a SES or any other light to come on, its something the computer just picked up on its own.
Edit 2** I changed my plugs today and reset all my vacuum and electrical connections in the process today. Everything works great now. My old plugs were all fouled up but I think some of the vacuum lines were likely messed up as well. Consider looking into that maybe for your starting issue?

Oh also if your car starts on a roll but not sitting still I would strongly consider load testing your battery if you haven't already. Thats a tell tale sign you have a ****ed battery. The gauge itself may read 12V but nothing beats putting a battery tester straight on the batter itself. Also check your connections on the battery as well. I helped a guy the other day who thought his battery was dead but really it was just one of his terminals was loose.
